We’ve known Cody Rich for a long time. He’s an Oregon hunter who got frustrated with smartwatches that weren’t designed around the way hunters actually use them — so he decided to build his own.

THE STORY BEHIND BRIDGER
Cody got tired of waiting for someone else to build it.
The idea behind Bridger started with a simple frustration: smartwatches could do more and more, but they still weren't being designed around the way hunters actually use them.
So Cody decided to build one.
He recently sat down with us to talk about where the idea came from, what it took to build a smartwatch company from the ground up, and why he believes hunters deserve technology designed around the way they actually hunt.
RECKON FAQ'S
Does the RECKON work with iPhone and Android?
Yes. The RECKON pairs via Bluetooth with both iOS and Android smartphones and can display notifications for texts, calls, emails and apps. Currently, you cannot send texts or make/receive calls directly through the watch.
How does the onX Hunt integration work?
RECKON integrates directly with onX Hunt, allowing mapping data to transfer between onX and Bridger. Waypoints, tracks and other mapping data can also be imported or exported, while data from other mapping platforms can be transferred through a computer.
Does the RECKON require a paid subscription?
No paid membership is required for the watch's core functionality. Bridger plans to offer optional premium health metrics with additional cloud-powered health and recovery insights.
What is the RECKON's battery life?
Battery life varies based on settings, GPS usage, mapping and activity tracking. Bridger says most users are currently seeing around a week of battery life, with ongoing software updates focused on improving battery performance.
Is the RECKON waterproof?
The RECKON carries a 10 ATM water rating and is rated to withstand pressures equivalent to a depth of 100 meters.
What band comes with the RECKON?
The RECKON includes Bridger's standard black FKM field band.
Does the RECKON have an alarm?
Yes. The RECKON includes an alarm clock.
What is the warranty?
The RECKON includes a two-year limited warranty. Bridger also offers a 50% replacement credit in year three if the watch experiences performance issues from normal use.
